Second Day of Filming

Second Day of Filming !

Because our second day of filming took place at school, Ricardo, the cameraman, had to accompany Joel (the actor) throughout the campus to obtain the images we needed. Because Joel and Ricardo rode the bus, they got right to work as soon as the bus dropped them off at school and began planning how and where we would begin the video. Then the idea we came up with over the phone was for Ricardo to first catch a scene of Joel going into the school looking sad and unhappy with his headphones on, so he walked behind him to capture his expression. We had to do it a few times because we needed it to be perfect, and it took a long time, but we got the photo in the end. Ricardo then begins to record in front of Joel in order to capture a mid-shot of Joel strolling across the courtyard while listening to music on his way to class. We had to repeat this process a couple of times, particularly because Richard had to move backwards to get the camera to face Joel's face. We also had to make sure that no one entered the picture at the incorrect time, and we had to time everything perfectly.

They then proceeded to the stairwell to film some video. We didn't utilize all of the clips, but we took enough so even if there were errors, we'd be good since there were others to use. Then Ricardo and Joel went to the classroom, where Ricardo took a video of Joel entering the classroom and the teacher looking at him, and then he took a video of him sitting in a chair and putting on his headphones. We had to retake this a few times because the other students kept interrogating us and interrupting us, and we had to retake it because the other students kept questioning us and interrupting us, and we had to retake it because the other students kept, Ricardo would sometimes take bad clips and Joel would sit weirdly or put his headphones on strangely. We also managed to get a teacher to help us, to get a more natural feel of a teacher than me being the teacher, as when we had planned for me to attempt being a teacher, it didn't go well, so we just went with Ms. Tejero. The last clip was one of the most important, and one of the hardest to do, it was the ending, and we had to reshoot it many times. It felt great to finish it since we had completed the film while also completing the most difficult part.
