Initial Story Board
For our initial storyboard Ricardo, Joel, and I worked together to create the sketches for the storyboard as well as the description and information provided on every single doodle. We were all very unartistic so these images turned out to not be very well done. Despite our lack of talent we still managed to provide detailed information about the shots, angles transitions and sound. We finished our brainstorming and initial sketch on Feb.4 and the descriptions were another piece of information for our storyboard for the next class. It was a little difficult because of our poor drawing skills but we were still able to finish it off with a decent looking stick figure.
For our storyboard we sectioned to who did each part Cindy did the first 6 boxes I did the next three and then joel did the next three. For the first 6 it starts off with the boy waking up from his bed all shocked because he is remembering that today is the day where he goes to a new school again. So the boy gets up and gets ready for school and then goes downstairs to eat breakfast. Then he hears his mom honking the horn outside telling him to hurry up because he will be late. This is now the next three boxes which shows him in the car with his mom to talk about again how he is transferring to a new school and how he feels. In which he responds all sad and upset because he is tired of moving and he does not like being the new kid and how he is just tired of it, in general. Then the next panel is the boy getting out of the car in front of the school as the mom drives away and he stands there looking at it, thinking to himself here we go again, as other students pass by him, then the next ones shows him mumbling and grumbling to himself because he is angry that he has to go through this again
When he walks into the school he is confused and doesn’t know where to go, he sees other students walking in groups starting to go to their class and chattering with each other, laughing, and having fun. And he has a look of jealousy on his face. Then that becomes sadness and disappointment, he then mutters inaudible words to himself; he pulls out his schedule and starts to go to his class with visual signs of distress as he doesn’t really know where exactly to go, he manages to find the path and he puts on his headphones to block everything off and isolate himself so he doesn’t have to deal with anything as usual, he finally makes it to the class he has to go to, and walks in, he instantly goes to sit in the back in the class, you can see other students in groups talking to each other and away from their seats, he again gets jealous but he keeps it to himself, the bell rings everyone goes back to their seat, and coincidently no one is on his sides, everyone is above and he’s left behind in the back much like the visual representation of how he thinks he feels of his social life, he also takes off his headphones, then he’s called to the front to introduce himself and he does so perfectly as he’s been through the same situation so many times before, he says everything with an expressionless face, and the teacher and students pay attention to what he says, “my name is…”
