Costume Breakdown !!

This is the black t-shirt that will be part of the main character's top as soon as he wakes up in the morning looking tired. the black shirt will display the casual vibe we are going for.

Pajama pants would also fill the criterial of a casual feel so this goes hand in hand with the black t-shirt 

This stock image of the messy hair is the same fashion we are going for because we want to show the audience how messed up he feels inside also transfers out to his physical appearance.

This grey hoodie will be the top Joel wears for majority of the time because the color grey just gives off a mysterious feel, which is perfect because to the other students he is just a very quiet and introvert boy.

This is an image of the set of headphones Joel will wear to block off the outside world and distract himself from how nervous he's feeling, he uses music to take his mind off of the situation he's in.

Black jeans and vans along with hoodie and headphones just puts together the vibe we are going for, mysterious, fear, unhappiness, depth of emotions, and much more. 

Choice of costuming and Why?

The choice of costuming for the short film we decided to create for our project will use a casual boy outfit as well as pajamas in the beginning. For example the in the beginning of it shot we will see (Joel) wearing his pajamas in bed as well as getting off and getting ready for school, the we will see a transition of the costume into a hoodie, black jeans, and a pair of vans shoes. We chose this specific costume because we wanted to give him a simple and similar look for the majority of teenage boys in America who's getting ready for another day of school. But the one different thing I should point out is that our main character will be wearing clothing thats slightly darker in color like grey, white, and black this way we will be able to portray the dark mood that that Joel is supposed to emit towards the audience since our main focus on this film is to display the moodiness, depression, and anxiety he is going through.We will also have him wearing headphone signifying how he excludes himself from everything around him in order to find an escape from the overwhelming feeling of meeting and leaving new people every few months. The desired hairstyle is slightly messy so that it can fit the character we're trying to portray.
